On Monday 11th July, 38 members of South East Cambs Conservative Association attended the London Day Out trip. After being greeted by our MP, Lucy Frazer, the group had a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. In a fascinating twist, Lucy insisted on taking the tour through the House of Commons chamber to help us see it from her own perspective and her daily work in the chamber. It was indeed an honour to be present in the House at the time Theresa May was announced as our new Prime Minister.
Lucy and Vicky Ford MEP then joined us for a delicious lunch at the Cellarium Cafe & Terrace in Westminster Abbey. With free time in the afternoon before the return coach, many chose to go back into the house to watch proceedings in the gallery.
We are very fortunate to have an MP who went out of her way to make our members feel so welcome.
We will be planning a return London Day Out next year with a different experience, so watch this space!
